When I was young and not yet a man
It was not easy to understand
About the darkness in the land
But as I went outside to play
It seemed to be there everyday
And there were some who came around
That always tried to put me down
But that was every now and then
Most tried to build me up again
Then I went to Church one day
Got on my knees and began to pray
That one I met that was so sweet
Had nail scarred hands and nail scarred feet
He showed me that the darkness was sin
That is born into the hearts of men
He showed me Love that is here to stay
And helps me drive my darkness away
That makes things better each and everyday
But now I am grown and understand
About the darkness in the land
But there are some that's not so bright
That can not see the Holy light
That always makes things feel so right
And this I know and have no doubt
He is coming back some day
To drive the darkness out

Who is o-so good to me,
My elder brother too is there,
The one who died for me,
For through his blood that he shed,
Upon O;Calvary's tree,
This I know God placed him there,
So we could finally be free,
From the dark and sinful life,
With grief and misery,
That I know O;Satan had,
Planned out so carefully,
When Jesus died on that day,
Upon that old rugged cross,
Satan and his demons jumped for
joy,
Because they thought that they
were boss,
But when Jesus rose from that tomb,
They knew that they had lost,
Because through him all sins are
gone,
For he has paid the cost.
